Hi. This is sort of a weird Mother's Day. It started yesterday around 8pm with a phone call from my son. His voice was weary and sleepy. He'd been awake for 24 hours, but wanted to wish me Happy Mother's Day before he went to sleep. I said 'you're my first Mother's Day call.' He told me he knew it wasn't Mother's Day where I was, but it was 3am where he was calling from. Guess what? My first Mother's Day call came from my son who is deployed in Iraq. It was Mother's Day to him! I love him. I called my mom and she's sad because none of her children are with her. I used to visit her every year when my life circumstances were different. Wow, what a long story to tell you about my day. None of my kids are with me either. I'm in GA, staying with my daughter-in-law. So, I'm not really her mother. Both of my daughters live in a different state and they called this morning to thank me for being their mom. That's it. Now, I'm here on mylot feeling a bit lonely. Thanks for starting this discussion. At least I get to talk to someone and it feels like I'm not alone. My son's wife is sleeping. Happy Mother's Day. What are you doing?

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!! I am wishing it was tomorrow. Then this day would be done. My son's have both called. I live in Michigan, one of my sons lives in Virginia, and my other son and his family live in Pennsylvania. My daughter lives here in Mich., but to far away to make it as she has to come this way on Tuesday and the gas is ridiculous. To top it off, my mom was my best friend and she passed away 26 years ago today. I had 2 babies and a bad marriage. I sure wasn't ready to face life without her. I don't think one ever gets 'ready' to lose their mom, but some are farther from it than others. My son's both told me that they love me and are glad that they got me for their mom, and my daughter sent me a loving, respectful email as she doesn't have a phone. I have my 7 year old granddaughter and my man here with me, but it isn't the same as it used to be. Plus, mom's day is always less enjoyable when it lands on the 11th. Well, I though you could use a hello. Someone to let you know that you really are not alone. God bless. Rev Wendy

You might be happier if you could change that feeling of duty to one of desire. My mom passed away 26 years ago. I was only 20. I miss her terrible still. She was my best friend. She passed on the 11th of May. It so often is Mother's Day. I makes it hard. My kids (27,26,25) don't understand why I would just as soon skip this day. I don't for them. I love them and I love being their mother. God bless and Happy Mother's Day! I am very glad you enjoyed the day with your mom. I hope you don't take any offense to what I said. It is not meant to be offensive. Rev Wendy

Yeah happy mothers day right now im trying to make my mother a cd for her mothers day gift. I know the type of music she likes and so I thought that would be the perfect gift for her since she didnt want anything else. So on thursday I bought a pack of cds so I can make a few for her and one for my grandmother I made a few for my aunts since they wanted one. I was also thinking of making her a movie that she wants to see for mothers day.

I had to work today, but I'm home now, enjoying a pizza. Nothing too fancy. Might have some pie and ice cream later if all goes well. LOL. Why not, I worked hard enough as a mother to deserve it! I'm sure you did too, so Happy Mothers Day today and always.

I got up this morning and made a bunch of cookies to take up to the gas station. The winery across the road was having their grand opening today, so I wanted to get a bunch up there just in case they sold. I went to the store and got a few groceries and I am cooking dinner right now. It has not been a relaxing day, but the kids are behaving well, so I guess that is good at least.

Happy Mother's Day to you my friend! I just responded to another post of yours about going out to eat...other than that I am not really doing much today.
