Movies that make you cry!!!

There is one movie that I consistently cry at when watching it. The Notebook(based on a book by Nicholas Sparks), makes me cry every time. I used to be able to make it at least halfway through the movie, now that I've seen it so many times, I start to tear up at the beginning of the movie because I know what's coming.

It's gotten to the point of ridiculousness, and yet I still watch it.

Well there only a few movies that I have seen that made me cry or get my eys a little wet I usally dont cry in movies not trying to be a tough guy or anything but I just dont cry when watching movies. But the movies that ive seen that made me cry are I am legend. The part when his dog dies I knew he was going to die but I still cried because its hard loosing a dog especially when that was his only friend. And the 6th man when his brother died that was sad also and I cried when I was younger.

Different things draw the tears. Sometimes it is acts of bravery or sacrifice others it is just a great love story. It really depends upon what is going on in my own life at the time.

There are others, most recently I saw P.S. I Love You. Thought it was really sweet.

It takes a lot to get me crying on a movie, but The Pursuit of Happyness with Will Smith and his son. When he got the job after that internship, not really knowing that he got the job while in the meeting with management. I couldn't help but cry because I know how it is to want something and you might be right in their grasp and you just cannot get it for some reason or the other. I couldn't do nothing but boo hoo. The scene in Forrest Gump when Jenny is dying is another tear jerker. Then the movie The Champ is another one altogether. Oh well.

But for real life movies, I have to go with "the ghost and mrs. muir".

I find that I cry on movies that have emotional scripts. The ones that really get me are Vanilla Sky and The Butterfly Effect. These aren't sappy, romantic movies, but movies that I can relate to on a tremendous level. They are mainly about the main characters suffering from delusions, which is normally affiliated with mental disorders. I felt really bad when I watched them, because they seem to feel so alone like the world was closing in on them and they had no one to understand or help them relate to what was actually going on. I sometimes feel like that in life, since I am bipolar, my life usually is like a roller coaster of raw emotions that can change at any given time. These are two of my ultimate favorite movies, and like you have stated, I also truly believe that it the fact that as viewers we are able to watch the movie, understand it and see deeper than some because we see the resemblances that are being portrayed to be that of things we can relate to in real life. I completely agree.

The movie that really made me cry the most was,"The Passion of Christ".The story was sad anyway,but it is true! Just to look at the movie.I know it was acting,but it was derived from The Bible,which is the word of God and totally true.To see the movie and see the pain that Jesus went thru and the emotional pain that his family,friends and believers went thru was very emotional to me as well.It was a great movie,I think that Mel Gibson did a great job bringing this true story to life.

I do cry when I see emotional encounters between parent and child in the movies due to hardships, divorce or loss. Kramer versus Kramer is a deeply emotional movie and Angela's Ashes is truly harrowing throughout. Schindlers List is heart breaking due to the subject matter. There are so many instances where I can be affected by something in the movies. I could list more films but I would be here for hours.

Wow, this list could be a mile long for me! I'll start with a few old classics - Love Story, Casablanca, Madame X, Imitation of Life and Splendor in the Grass are a few that come to mind. More recent movies, but some are still a bit old now I guess, Terms of Endearment, Steel Magnolias, The Way We Were, Field of Dreams, Ghost...there are millions more that I can't think of right now - OK, not millions, but a bunch of them...lol

The movies that make me cry would be the story of someone close to you that dies, or a story of someone you loved that left or was taken away from you ... movies that make the tears flow would a story of overcoming incredible odds and stories of lost love ... stories of bravery. I saw "Saving Private Ryan" last night and I cried. It was sad and made me think of my father because he was in WWII. "Terms of Endearment" is a very sad movie. Another movie similiar to that movie is "Stepmom" ... it is with Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon. These movies have made me cry ... "Rainman", "The Days of Wine and Roses", "Madame X", "Splendor in the Grass", "Kramer vs. Kramer", "Out of Africa", "The Hustler", "Brian's Song", "The Way we Were" and I am sure that there are other movies that have made me me cry. I relate to these stories that somehow have brought back memories of situations in my own life.
