Getting rid of the stuff they are too big for |
|
My daughter is 15 months old and I am not having anymore kids, so I need to get rid of some of the stuff she has outgrown. I have her clothes all packed up into boxes already, but now I have to deal with the walker, swing, bassinet, bouncy chair, and infant car seat. I was thinking of trying to take it to the local kids consignment shop, but I am not sure. What did you do with these things when your kids outgrew them?

In the case of my sister and I, my mother gave the old stuff to relative and friends who had smaller children who needed it. If you don't have relaives and friends who need the stuff, the kids store might not be a bad idea.

lilybug (15265) | 2 years ago | My daughter is the youngest child in the family, so that would not work here. I did ask my sister in law if she had any friends who needed baby girl clothes, but she has not gotten back to me on that yet.

4. kg_gurl (138) | 2 years ago | hey lilybug! I don't have any kids of my own(I'm too young for that)=) but what my mom used to do is this: for the bouncy chairs, infant car seat and bassinet she gave it to other relatives you still had younger children or are planning on having a family. Others like our old clothes, she gave it to some people who are really really poor to help them out. Some she gave to charity and our parish especially during christmas when there's a lot of giving around to those who are less fortunate. Maybe you can have a garage sale before you give it away jsut in case there are some in your neighborhood who wants/needs it.>~<
