Do you care for the popularity of interest when starting a discussion?

I just put it in whatever category fits most closely with whatever I am writing. Sometimes it's a popular topic, like people, sometimes is something really obscure. I figure I took the time to scroll through all billion of the interests, so someone else must have too.

I also try and post a topic that people can relate to though, like relationships, friends, work, etc. so it ends up being in a popular topic anyway.

I'm sure as I am here longer(this is only my first month), I will run out of topics that everyone knows about and start getting into more obscure topics.

I try to start my discussions in the interest category that it most closely matches. Sometimes it is not a very popular interest. I think that sometimes they would get more responses if I put them in the more popular interest groups, but I try to make them in the proper interest anyway.

For me, the popularity of an interest is not important. When I start a discussion, which is rare, I start it in the first interest that is listed that fits the subject matter of my discussion. I do, however, always place my discussion in an interest, and not in general discussions. I have noticed that they don't get commented on as often.

Not really, I go for the discussions by categories. Whichever questions I find interesting, I answer.
Sometimes I just go through the discussions and add a few of my opinions in the comments.
