Peanut butter sandwich? |
|
I myself loves peanut butter sandwich. I can eat 4 sandwiches in just one sitting. I also love eating butterfinger and reeses too.
Until I found out recently that too much consume of peanut butter can cause cancer. Yup. Cancer. Actually lot of foods may cause cancer if eaten with large consumption.
Again, as what I've told from my previous posts. Too much consumption of anything may cause us trouble. Whenever we felt weird inside our body let's not get scared of going to a doctor for check up.
PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.:

2. xtinelee (3150) | 2 years ago | Oh I love peanut butter too! I love peanut butter even better when it's on a waffle, and it's all hot and slimey looking. But it really taste great and heavenly. I think too much of anything isn't good for health. Even water.. too much of water makes your body work harder I think, and it might dilate your cells in your body. Well, take everything in moderation ya!:)

3. thebeing (444) | 2 years ago | hm...i don't think that too much peanut butter could cause cancer. Actually, there are only a few things that CAUSE cancer. It's not about the...product, the substance, it's more about the person. For example, they say bread causes cancer (stomach cancer). Romanians do NOT eat one meal without bread. And, yet, we don't all develop gastric cancer. Not even 50% of us. They also say that gastric cancer is caused by rice. And, yet, Japan has one of the lowest gastric cancer rates in the whole world. They also say that smoking causes cancer. That's not true. I know of plenty example that prove otherwise. So, do the ones that say these things lie? Nope. It's just that disease, and especially cancer, ESPECIALLY CANCER is determined by genetics, too. So, if you make a study in one population (a village, for example), there is a pretty high chance that you will get such a result (that one type of food causes cancer). That doesn't mean that that type of food actually causes cancer in every (or in most of) people (we're talking worldwide). Why? well, for starters, the inhabitants of that village have a quite "general" genetic type. I mean, marriages between townfolks. So, it's more likely to get a "posivite" overall result. I hope you understand what i mean. And, besides that, it's not quite the actual substance (the peanuts, in this case) that cause cancer. It's more about the way the peanut butter it's prepared. A home-made peanut butter is more healthy that the one you buy from a store.
Now, that being said...a lot of peanut butter could cause disease, is consumed in large quantities. But i guess that obesity would be the first cause of peanut butter excess. And, along with that, cardio-vascular problems. And maybe digestive problems. Abusing any substance is harmful. We should create an equilibrium, especially in our food.
Take care!

| 5. Al_Bobid (67) | 2 years ago | My favorite sandwich is a Cheese Burger with all the works plus one sunny-side-up fried egg.
I used to also like peanut butter. However I have allergies and peanut isone of them. Now I cannot eat peanut butter of fear of choking to death.
It's true that "Prevention is better than cure', but in my case it would be restated as "Abstinence is better than death"...

| Al_Bobid (67) | 2 years ago | Cholesterol is manageable, as one should always practice "Moderation" in everything you do....
As they say "too much of a good thing is not good". The key is MODERATION....
Japanese even eat POISON(Poisonous fish) and Pinoys (People from the Philippines)also eat a similar type of fish (dried) related to the Puffer fish...
