For me it is two things, KFC chicken and frozen custard. When I was real young my parents would take me to KFC all the time.it was and still is my favorite chicken. And when I was young , we lived in Philly and we had a drive-in custard stand near by. On summer nights we would go and get some custard. It was creamier and richer than ice cream. Do you have food that reminds you of your childhood?

I think probably my mum's home-made stew, the taste of pink-coloured liquid penicillin, candy floss, Rossi's ice cream, cockles with non-brewed vinegar, dolly mixtures, sherbert, iced gems, home-made jam tarts, ice lollies made with milk, Fry's Five Boys chocolate, junior aspirin, and Haliborange vitamin C tablets.

Here in the States we have something like a ice lollie, we called it a popsicle. It is a frozen treat made of fruit flavors that comes on a stick.

Hi thanks for your reply.....
Ice lollies here in the UK are (sorry I'm not sure what they're called in other countries) are frozen fruity or chocolate flavoured ice on a stick, and cockles are little yellow/grey coloured shellfish found round the coasts of Britain and probably other northern European places.

This is a great post! There are quite a few different foods and drinks that remind me of different times in my childhood but I have to say two of them are of ice cream. The one was the local Tastee Freeze which was a block from my house. I used to walk down there for an ice cream cone or a milk shake all the time and I can still taste it. There's still a drive-in restaurant there but it's now a local family that owns it and has been for years. It's still quite good, though. The other was another ice cream stand a bit further down the street from my house, too far for me to walk so I would bug and beg my dad constantly to go get us some ice cream from there and since he loved it too I got my way often enough. That place is long gone but I can still taste it and it makes me want it SOOOO bad! It was the best soft ice cream! I also remember cherry phosphates from our Rea & Derrick's lunch counter where my big brother would take me either before or after the movies when he'd take me.

Hmm, for me, foods that remind me of my childhood are cotton candy and pink-colored or cheese popcorn. XD. Because When I was a kid, there are cotton candy and popcorn vendors outside the church. So after the mass and before we went home, I always asked my parents to buy me those. Well, it became a routine, that every Sunday they would buy me that. So now, whenever, I see those foods it really remind me of my childhood days. XD
