Your toddler is a shoplifter |
|
What would you do if you got home from shopping and found numerous items in the diaper bag that your little one had pilfered. You know how they do, their in the buggy, and those chubby little hands are always reaching. Without you being aware of it, not to mention the security camera didn't catch it. Your toddler was busy putting items in his or her diaper bag when your head was turned. Would you return the items or keep them and consider yourself one up on the price hikes?

1. LilyoftheThorns (3123) | 3 months ago | lol I would return the items. And I would make sure my toddler was there to see it and hear me explain. They are never too young to learn whats right and wrong. I could never keep something that i didn't pay for. It would effect a lot of people just trying to make a living (and I don't mean the big companies).=P

SusanLee (683) | 3 months ago | I would do the same, although I would have to make a point of remembering, we live in the country and I only go to town once every two weeks to shop. I would definitely keep a closer eye on my little sticky fingered child. Thanks for responding.

2. recycledgoth (6160) | 3 months ago | When my son was about 18 months old we were out shopping and he was in his buggy. There was a display of toy cars in a local shop, all at grabbing height. I was busy packing up the shopping and didn't realise until I had walked home that my son was clutching a toy car. I felt really embarassed and turned around to walk all the back to the shop. The man in the shop actually laughed when he realised that he had put his display within easy reach of the little ones in buggies.

SusanLee (683) | 3 months ago | lol, I bet something like that would be hard for any little one to resist. The reason I asked the question to start with is I do recall a few times when mine were in the buggy I would catch them poking stuff in my purse. And they're so fast too. Thank you for answering.

SusanLee (683) | 3 months ago | Good for you. I wonder how many times it happens and the stuff is never returned. And I wonder how many people out there actually teach their little ones to take stuff and slip it in their purses or diaper bags.

jer31558 (2178) | 3 months ago | I remember as a small child, my mother sent me into a store to buy some flour I think. Well actually she told me to get a bag of flour....and I did, brought her the flour and the money. I still to this day remember her taking me back to that store and apologizing to the owners. Fortunately she was a good lawyer and I didn't have to serve any hard time.

4. cjgrooms (2252) | 2 months ago | My grandson Chandler was about 3 when i went to buy groceries with him and his mom, while i was checking out he kept picking up stuff and putting it in the bag "helping" the bag boy. unfortunately the stuff hadn't been scanned. I kept getting the stuff and putting it back on the right side so that the girl could scan it. well they had had some make-up on a buy one get one (you know the 8.00 lipsticks) I had bought 6 of them. as we were going out to the car i told Johni (daughter) that i hadn't seen them go through the check-out so we went through the bags and sure enough there they were. The only problem was that they were not on the receipt. And yes i took them back into the store and told the lady what had happened after she quit laughing she said not to worry about it, that watching Chandler "help" them was to precious to charge for! I still watch him like a hawk when we are in the store because not only was i embaressed half to death but i can't tell you the number of times i have gotten home with items that i had no idea that i had bought! And yes i always check to make sure that i paid for it.

5. lingli_78 (6854) | 2 months ago | i don't have a child yet... so i never experience something like this... but when i do have one, i will make sure that i watch them carefully when i take them shopping so that they won't take any goods from the store unpaid... thanks for reminding me through this post... and of course i will return the item back to the store if it happens... take care and have a nice day...
