somewhat yes , it is true but not always .. you can modify that saying ..."access money is cause of evils"
because person having lot of access money can use it for doing wrong thing s... a person who have just enough money for his survival not think of doing something wrong ...
but if a person have lot of extra money he do lot of wrong things .. he think that he can get release due to his money ....

The poor can commit acts of wrong-doing just as well as the rich. A poor man can kill, a poor man can steal, a poor man can do all manner of terrible things.

Well, considering the full quote IS "The love of money is the root of all evil..." (1 Timothy 6:10)... I'd say that is truer than simply "money is the root..."
People will do some pretty nasty things to each other to get money, so it is true to say that the desire for money is the root of some 'evil' (though you can desire money without doing 'evil').
However, not all 'evil' is done in the search for more money. I think perhaps a better version (and who knows... maybe it should have been) would be "The love of POWER is the root of all evil."

It's the love of money that is the root of evil.
I disagree.
Do football hooligans riot for money? Do women get raped for money? Do random strangers get stabbed in the street for money (when a robbery is not involved)?

I agree with you shard....the love of Power is the root of all evil. A few yrs ago, my grandfather came into some money, and I'm not just talking a few extra dollars. Well my aunt got her hands on it, and she just about spent it all up, I mean it went to her head, she started bossing everybody in the family around, and telling us who and who couldn't come see grandpa, I used to take care of him, I lived with him and she threw me out of house. She made sure my grandpa had what he needed, she hired a lady to come cook and clean for him. But at the same time, she was buying cars for her, and her son, and she was doing improvements on her house, my grandpa had bought him a new truck because that was what he always wanted, but he didn't get to drive it much or ride in it much, because she had it all the time. The whole family was mad at her, finally my uncle stepped in and took grandpa into his home, and made her give him the books she kept, and the checking account book. After all that there wasn't much money left, she had spent most of it on herself. The family couldn't do anything about it, cause we all knew she'd never have enough money to pay it back. To this day tho, we don't get along with her. I believe that money can be the root of all evil too, it can cause alot of problems especially between family members.

Personally, I think having more money makes more sense.
For one thing, life is much easier with more money. You don't have worry about daily life, which is the bottom line
Also, you can have better education to have more money. For example, if I have $400000, I can only afford the university of Hongkong. On the other hand, if I have $80000, I will go to some university like Standford.
Most importantly, there are a lot of people who still suffer the poverty, with more money, you know, at least I can help some of them out of the case.
All in all, money in not everything. It is not of all evils, but it is very important.

I agree with your idea!! but most people who have plenty of money has no heart to help the poor. And most of the rich are stiff neck. yes, they may have good education but they are not using it for service to others, they want to gratify themselves of what they achieve. selfish desire so to speak. There are also rich who are good but very seldom maybe only 2 percent.. meaning in 10 good if you can find 1 or 2 who are good.. and
unselfish.
unselfish.

I do not believe on it but what I believe is it's the person beneath who is really evil not the Money because in my part if I will have the enough Money then I do not have to budget what I have to give all of my family member and help them out for the misery.

yes. it is the main cause for most problems. it is not the love for money but rather the greed for it. if one is not bother over money maybe he or she would not have this problem but in our society nowadays it is almost impossible to find a person who is not bothered about $. everything started with money even relationship also involved $ at some stages. or at least $ is the cause for differences. So without money it is almost impossible to achieve anything, with money you can try to achieve something and hope u are able to strike the right balance between happiness and it

yes it is true that money is a basic need in order to survive but when you love money very much or as what you said the greed of money, it will ruin everything. There are people who would do anything just for money because they love money very much to the extent of doing even a hineous crime just to have plenty of money.

Money by itself does not harm or hurt. So how can it be evil? :) Even loving money is fine..it is like being childish and enjoying some game. But desire to hold on is something funny. And other desires for which people are willing to do wrong is evil. So evil is in us, and our inability to control our desires. To have desires is not wrong. Not able to control wrong ones is wrong.
