Has anyone ever had to leave a Wedding to be somewhere else?!  email this discussion to a friend?

I work in a Hotel..We had a Wedding Function on this evening, the meal not starting til around 6:30..We'd only just served the first course, and a Guy got up to leave, the reason being as I heard later, that He had a flight to catch! Given that the nearest airport is about 50 miles away, and the Nearest International airport is 90+ miles away,I'm thinking He had a wasted and expensive trip for a small smoked Chicken salad!
Has anything like this happened at a Family gathering You attended?

I think I did this quite a few times. At one time, two of my friends got married on the same day, one hour apart. In the same city though. The first couple got married at 4:00 in the afternoon and the other got married at 6:00. After the first couple's matrimonial ceremonies, we went to the reception. After few minutes of being in the hotel, I had to leave for the next wedding ceremony.

In another instance, one couple is to be married at 10:00 in the morning and another couple at 11:00. What I did was wait for my role to be over (I was one of the secondary sponsors) then I had to scram to the other church where my other friend was getting married.

Well, I could do this if the ceremonies take place within the city. If it meant having to travel to another place or anything to that effect, nevermind. I would just attend one.

I can appreciate You'd want to be there on (both) Your Friend's special Day,but getting away to go between the two must've been a nightmare! On the bright side,You didn't have to get 2 outfits, did You?happy
