Has anyone seen Red Planet?

I saw it today. It was supposed to be this really cool environmental flick, however, like all movies that are trying to make a political point while they also try to make money, this movie was short on politics (although it tried) and long on gore and violence. I think if I want to get my politics in movies, it'll have to be independent film genre, where they don't care so much about the box office and can actually deal with an issue. Has anyone seen this movie? what do you think of it?
