Lets just improvise shall we? |
| |
| It has been said that necessity is the mother of invention. I think that improvising is a form of invention, at least in some cases anyway. I am sure that at some point we all improvise in some way. There have been times when I would be fishing and wanted an extra fishing pole, so I would use a limber limb from a nearby tree. I also improvise by using the bag I get groceries in as trash bags in the bathroom or automobile. So tell me, what are some of the ways that you have improvised on things? | | | | | |

| | Off hand I can't think of any but I know what you mean...well actually this morning I was going to play musical chairs with my granddaughter and didn't want to bring down the cd player from my studio so I got a musical Mother's day card and you open the card and it just plays for a few seconds and that was just about right. She didn't know when it was going to stop...all she knew is she loved playing the game! LOL | | | | | | |

| | Musical chairs is a fun game for the little ones like that, and using a musical was a great idea. | | | |

| | I have used a trash bag to cover myself from the rain several times when I did not have umbrellas/ raincoats. I have torn sheets to use when I could not get my hand on bandages. I have had to improvise on several occasions. When you are in the nursing arena sometimes you do have to improvise quite a bit. | | | | | | |

| | I have used newspapers as well as trash bags for umbrellas. Those torn sheets would definitely make good bandages too. | | | |

| | I think that a lot of times we are so used to improvising that we just take it for granted and don't think of it as improvising. | | | |

| | Too me this is a hard question because, I am sure that everyday EVERYone improvises, even if they don't realize. And the smallest of improvises are the best. Wish i could think of some. | | | | | | |

| | I agree, I think that sometimes we are used to doing it that we don't think of it as improvising. | | | |

| | You can use a piece of tape and small piece of tissue if you don't have a bandaid. Guess who told me that? | | | | | | |

| | Most of my improvising happens when I am cooking/baking and am shy of enough of an ingrediant. Throwing in applesauce instead of oil, for example. I have stuck a button back on with a stripped twist tie, stapled up the hem in a pair of pants because i was in a hurry and used the floor mats of my car under my wheels to get out of an icy patch. I also lugged around a bucket of ashes from the fireplace for that purpose. I once did laundry with shampoo. My father was great at improvising toys out of things he found outside when we were on trips or out in the country for the summer. | | | | | | |

I never was allowed to was clothes with dish washing detergent again either...LOL At least the clothes were clean...along with most of the back porch and part of the yard. | | | |
