What triggers you to think about a particular person?

Free Gas - This is the T-shirt I had just seen that started all of this!

Sometimes it's a song, or a place, or a date on the calendar, or even something you're eating. Today, my trigger was a discussion subject header on MyLot. "Save Gas -- Toot in a Jar" OF ALL THINGS!!! A childhood friend of mine had just sent me a photo today of her oldest son wearing a T-shirt with a stick figure holding up a sign that says "Free Gas" while lifting his leg and emitting exhaust. Her son is standing in the same position as the stick figure! I saw that discussion and flashed back to that photo. THEN I flashed back to my ex-husband (of all people - strange how minds work) who used to tell the kids (there were 27 grandchildren of which 2 were our children, so many nieces and nephews), "Here, catch this in a jar and paint it red!" He'd then immediately pass gas. Probably his version of pull my finger....who knows. But, such thoughts in microseconds only because I read the discussion subject!! How about you? What kinds of things have made you suddenly think of someone and who?

Sometimes I will catch a whiff of some guys cologne and it makes me think of my ex. He wore this awesome smelling stuff. Or I will be walking through the grocery store and I will walk past something that I know he really likes.

I think of someone when I see things that kinda remind me of them. When ever I see a guitar i always remember my boyfriend coz he`s kinda bit a musician type.

I still go places or see things that make me think of my mother and, occasionally, my father. I'll look at my daughter's hands when she's fixing her hair and I'll be reminded of her sister, my step-daughter who I raised from age 11 on. It's amazing what triggers a memory.

For me it is usually a song or a movie that would trigger a memory. Usually good memories. Ones that i wish I could go back and relive.
