Have you ever eaten pumpkin soup?

Earlier I saw an Ebay ad for pumpkin soup mix. It sounds delicious. But, I'll bet it's not. Have you ever had pumpkin soup? What does it taste like? Does it have more of a veggie taste? Or, is it more like fruit? I like pumpkin by itself, but I don't think I'd like warmed up pumpkin. Sure pumpkin pie is good. But, then again it's loaded with sugar. Anything with sugar is bound to taste good. Maybe cantelope soup? That could work! What do you think? What type of exotic soups would you like to create from fruits?

Yup, I've drank pumpkin soup before, and it was during a camp when I drank it. It's has a very nice texture and sweet taste, and quite a lot of people loved it during the camp too. It actually tastes better with grounded black pepper added to it, and having some crispy bread to go with the soup would be magnificent too. Gee, I would like to see some new exotic fruit soups such as watermelon soup or banana soup be created!

That actually sounds pretty good. Pureed bananas would go nicely in a cream based soup. Might try that one.

I actually found a recipe for both. Chilled Cucumber-Watermelon Soup Ingredients # 1/4 cup water # 2 tablespoons Splenda sugar substitute # 1/4 cup fresh lime juice # 7 cups peeled seedless watermelon, ½ inch chunks # 2 cups finely diced cucumber (english or ontario greenhouse, about one long cucumber) Directions Combine water and sugar in saucepan. Bring to boil over medium high heat; stir in lime juice. Cool then chill. Working in batches, place watermelon in blender or food processor, cover and blend until smooth. Spoon off foam, if desired. Stir diced cucumber, and lime mixture into watermelon purée. Cover and refrigerate until cold. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. http://www.recipezaar.com/68348 Banana Soup Recipe Ingredients: 12 very ripe bananas 1 quart water 1/2 package tapioca 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup coconut milk OR 1 cup canned milk WITH 1 teaspoon coconut extract Directions: Skin bananas and break into small pieces and place in medium size pot. Add water and boil slowly for approximately 15 minutes. Mash bananas in the pot with potato masher. Slowly pour in tapioca and simmer about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in sugar and coconut milk. Remove from heat. May be served warm or cool. This recipe from CDKitchen for Banana Soup serves/makes 8 http://www.cdkitchen.com/recipes/recs/20/Banana_Soup19206.shtml

Yes, I have had pumpkin soup before. It was actually not that bad. I made it for my mom once. She really likes pumpkin and squash, so I thought that she would like it. I have actually seen recipes for Cantaloupe Soup before. Chilled Cantaloupe Soup INGREDIENTS * 1 cantaloupe - peeled, seeded and cubed * 2 cups orange juice * 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice * 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon DIRECTIONS 1. Peel, seed, and cube the cantaloupe. 2. Place cantaloupe and 1/2 cup orange juice in a blender or food processor; cover, and process until smooth. Transfer to large bowl. Stir in lime juice, cinnamon, and remaining orange juice. Cover, and refrigerate for at least one hour. Garnish with mint if desired. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Chilled-Cantaloupe-Soup/Detail.aspx

I made pumpkin and sweet potato soup one Halloween and it was lovely, it has a nice texture and is sweet tasting. The sweet potato probably made it sweeter too, I have had just plain pumpkin soup too though and it is also nice. It tastes like a normal winter vegetable type soup really just a bit sweeter.

I have never heard of pumpkin soup before. Sounds like it could be good though as I like pumpkin pie and pumpkie pudding those are both good. Are you going to get some pumpkin soup to try?
