As you all know I am going through a bit of Memory time Well I was watching something on TV last Night which made me remember the Day my Daughter at the age 3 did something that me laugh My Daughter has always been and still is at times very strong headed lol and says straight out what she thinks, you always know where you stand with her lol She was 3 years old when I was in the Kitchen cleaning up after their Dinner, next thing Mike, my Son, shouts, “Mum, Mel is feeding Yoghurt to the Video Recorder, well I went rushing through and took the Spoon of her as she is about to put more in, I unplug the Video, fortunately, Mike was watching a Video so that caught the bit she had already put in there, I told her that she is naughty and should not do this again, she replies,”Mel not naughty, Video needs food to.” I told her no it does not, I went to my Bedroom to get the Ironing and told her to sit and be good, she follows me, then she says “Mummy is naughty, Mummy told Mel is naughty.” I said, “Yes Mel is very naughty for putting yoghurt in the Video you could have broke it” She started throwing a Tantrum, lol, because she said she is naughty, I told her she was and that was the end. She then said, she wants her Yoghurt back, I told her no, because she had been naughty and obviously did not want it because she put it in the Video Well she started stamping her Feet, I left and went out of the Bedroom, next thing, there was a big slam, I knew she had slammed the Door shut again, what I did not know was that she was still in the Bedroom, Mike shouts that Mel is calling me, I said she can come to me if she wants me, he shouts, “Well actually Mummy she can’t” I asked why not? He says “Well you know she slammed the Door shut, well she can’t reach the Handle to get out, as she is still in your Room” I asked why he won’t let her out, he replies “Because she should not slam Doors shut and then she won’t get locked in, it might teach her,(This coming from a 6 year old, lol), I asked him nicely, while not trying to laugh to let her out. He did, Mel come charging through and shouted, stupid Door would not let me out, I am mad now.” Well I thought she was already Mad anyway lol but this made her madder, so she stormed into her Bedroom and slammed the door shut and of course she locked herself in again, all I could hear was “Mummy,Mummy, I am sorry will you let me out, will not slam Doors as I keep being locked in. I just had to laugh, of course she was not happy that I was laughing at her, made that quite clear by messing up the Clothes I had ironed and folded, I laughed even more as she looked so funny, stamping her feet while throwing the Clothes on the Floor Those where wonderful Days lol

Hahaha! That's very funny indeed! I really find it cool if instead of the rising temper, making the situation "hot", people still find ways or see things in a lighter point of view. Thus preventing the situation from getting worst!

slamming door is a very bad habit that i also like to do when i am mad... even until now... i can still remember that my parents will be very angry if i throw a tantrum like that... and if i slammed the door, i will definitely get the punishment that i deserved from them... nice story though gabs... i am a strong headed person too... may be strong headed people like to slam the door when they are angry... :-) just a thought... take care and have a nice day...

Chey slams doors to dont know why she just does but she can open them. Sometimes I think the wind thro the house helps with the door slamming for her. Lol at Mel so funny . Cute at that age but not when they get older hugs

I wouldn't be able to control my laugh in that situation either, gabs, LOL! Kids are so fun to have around about that age. They do funny things and sometimes they really say very wise words, as the mike did. It's so funny that kids think that they are, or should be, center of the world and they do things thinking that it will make their way but soon realize that they still need their parents to help them out. They wouldn't stop doing that again though, LOL! I have had a lot of fun with children around that age especially my older nephew and son of my uncle. And, those were really more fun days than I have now here. Well, they grow up and one wishes that they never had.

Ha ha I don't know about being wonderful days but you remind me of when I got really mad at a similar incident. I always taped Y&R while I was at work and then watched the entire week's worth on the weekend. One Saturday after all my weekend chores were finished I settled down to watch my show and the VCR would not work... my daughter had taken out the tape and put in a sandwich. She said it was because she was mad at me for something.

I have a nine month old, and even now, with the teething and biting, and runny noses and temper tantrums, I know that I'll miss her being the way she is now, so I try to enjoy it.

Gabs I hate ironing so I definately wouldn't have been laughing whilst she threw it all over the floor and would have probably shut the door again, but thats me and thats me when my ironing is messed up. The video bit I really can laugh at as how many times do video recorder chew up tapes?, so it is logical for a three year old to want to feed it eh! Lol. You really have been having a few trips down memory lane eh! Good for you as they grow up so quick it is good to look back on these moments. Thank you for sharing them with us all. Ellie :D

gabs that so sweet. I can just see her having her pout then mad at the door, then you laughing and'she is'getting madder. those are great days and wonderful memories. They are all so cute at that age of three. I remmber 'a photo I took of my son when he was four and his'sister was three. He was standing behind her and he put his arms around her then gave her a little smooch right on her check. she was laughing and I caught them just at' the right moment.

She sure sounded like an independent child at that age, gabs. Sorry, but if my daugher did that at that age after being told not to slam doors, I would of left her in her room for a few hours b4 letting her out. That was funny thou. Thank you for sharing a memory with us.

These are the sorts of things that my girl does. The stamping of the feet etc, she is OK when she slams the door though as she can reach the handle and let herself in and out. She too is very head strong, so am I, this makes for interesting arguments between us when we both think that we are in the right. Of course with her only being 2 this could be a pain as she gets older!
