The nerve of some people!

Monday I was at my brothers house around dinner time. He has these annoying downstairs neighbors that like to play their music loud and with lots of base all hours of the day and night. My brother has complained to the property manager before and they were told to keep it down. Anyway, we had not been there 5 minutes and the guy comes up and knocks on my brothers door and asks him to get the kid to quit running around on the floor. He was talking about my 23 pound 16 month old daughter. How loud could it be? And she was not running. He goes back down and immediately cranks up the stereo and with so much base that the chair I was sitting in was vibrating. How can you have the nerve to come upstairs and complain about a kid being a kid in the middle of the evening when you are downstairs blasting your music?

I had noisy neighbors that stayed awake all night and I had to get up at 4am in the moring to go to work. The landlord refused to do anything about it. I hate living in apartment buildings. I wish I had some advice for you but sadly short of moving there is not much you can do.

Some people have no shame whatsoever. The building I live in can reverberate too when there is too much base. Myself, I cannot stand very loud sounds and having mine on loud just to bug the neighbours isn't an option. But they seem to enjoy cranking up theirs when I ask them to keep it down. It's stuff like you described that can really make people very, very angry. And that can be dangerous if you don't watch out.

I am just glad that it is not my apartment. My brother has complained and they have gotten in trouble for it already.

I had a similar thing happen to us a few years ago. We moved into this apartment building until we could find another house to buy. When I got there with the first load the music was so loud I thought someone had left a stereo on in our new apartment but they hadn't. It was the guy below and when I asked him to turn it down he said "Get used to it" I immediately called the landlord and complained. I ended up calling the landlord night and day, any time that jerk came home and turned up his music. That didn't help so I called the police and asked them to park their car where the guy couldn't see them coming. We gave our notice the first day we moved in. They finally managed to get the guy out about a week before we left and then had the nerve to ask if we would stay. They even turned this guys electricity off but he just ran a couple of extension cords outside to where people plug their cars in for the winter. We are so happy we have a house again with a nice big property and no one has bothered us in 3 years now.

My brother has told the lady in the office that either they move or he wants a different apartment. These people have been a pain since he moved in 2 months ago.

Well, you can't really help it.. there are some people who don't know the limits. There are some noisy and unwanted people living in the society and we cannot really complain about it cos its a combined house. If it were an independent house and they were causing noise, one could have complained to the cops. What did you do after he pumped up the volumes?? bourne

I told the baby to stomp around on the floor all she wanted.

I told my brother that if I had answered the door I would have told him that I would control that baby when he controlled the stereo.
