During the times myLot was slow loading this is another chore I did outside. The neighbors had their Silver Maple tree trimmed from the powerlines and roof. The man running the show offered me some wood from the job so I agreed. I grabbed my shoes and gloves and wheelbarrow and helped load a bunch to take to my yard. Now I have enough fre wood for a couple bonfires anyhow. This photo shows part of the load I moved. Do you buy your firewood from stores or by the cord? How much is cheap camping wood going for a cord noways in your area. I have no idea here in Minnesota. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

its good when you can give your off cuts away, I don't have any big trees but when I cut some of my trees back I give it to the people next door, only good for starting the fire but they like it anyway and it saves me from filling up my recycle bin up...

I got this wood from the neighbors trees. They had a lot of trimming done today. I cut it up mostly. A few pieces I need my chain saw and didn't feel like starting that up tonight. Myabe tomorrow. I pick up chunks of wood when I see them as I love bonfires etc. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I have a gas fireplace so I don't buy wood. My neighbor, though, has a stack of wood all along the side of his garage from when lightning hit a tree across the street and he chopped it up. I think he must have enough for 3 winters!

This is an outdoor fire not indoors. I just started the bonfire about an hour ago as well. Sitting at the computer watching it from the window in the office. So calming. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I believe a cord of wood was around 100.00 about 8 years ago when we burned wood, but since we no longer do that I don't know..But we do have many fires during the summer months because we have many trees, some that have branches that break off in a little wind, so when we get a good storm, I know that I will be collecting more wood for another bonfire..

i don't buy firewoods since here in our country, we don't need bonfires to warm us up. but a lot of Filipinos use firewood to cook their food. firewoods are a lot cheaper here in the Philippines since some of our forest are still abundant with trees. for 5 pesos, a family could already buy a bunch of firewood to cook for their food.

Oh, I miss the firepit we had in Minnesota! We had a lot of good times gathered around the fire, singing, roasting marshmallows, making s'mores and all that. I can't have one here as I'm renting (and the landlord lives next door), but I'd sure love to have another when we get or own place.

I don't do any of that. I just burn and burn some more, then I burn some more. I am a pyro and play with the fire for the most part. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We got a whole bunch of free fire wood last winter. There was a tree trimmer working next door and I told him that I would be interested in the larger pieces he had and he said that if I came and got them I could just have them. He even cut them to size for me. That was so great.

A "bundle" goes for $3-$5, I'm sure over-priced for what you get but you pay for the convenience. I'm not sure what they get for a cord. I'm going to have to look into it though as my wood is gone from last year and we have a nice outdoor fireplace we use often.

We cut our own wood so never have to buy it. We even take some camping with us in case there is no wood to scavange for at the campground. We never turn down free firewood long as it's good wood.
