Digestion issue

So for quite some time I have been eating mostly fruits, vegetables and all the diet stuff.....havent really had the "want" for red meat. Never been a big red meat eater anyways, except for maybe an occasional burger here and there.
Anyways, I had a salad at dinner last night that had pieces of steak in it.
Not long after eating it, my stomach hurt so bad, the pain was horrible. I finally ended up throwing it up. (Gross I know)
Do you think that was my stomachs way of telling me that eating the meat after so long of not having meat was a big no-no or do you think it was food poisioning?

That's a very real possibility that it's telling you no meat. If you've not had red meat in quite a while, your stomach may have developed an aversion to it (red meat takes a while to digest).
It's just like people who grow up on raw or veggie diets - if they try to eat cooked or meat filled meals then their stomach will probably try to "reject" the food.

thanks! I didnt think of it that way. Maybe next time I decide to eat some red meat I may just need to take it a little at a time and not make my stomach upset with me.

If you don't eat red meat regularly, your body is not going to be able to handle digesting it. If you are going to start eating meat again, you would have to do it gradually, so your body could adjust.

yes meat is hard to digest , so your body wasnt used to it, and didnt want it in there
