Seen this on the news today... A nine-year-old girl has died on her parents property near Condamine in Southern Queensland (Australia). It is believed that she may have been driving the family car when it rolled on Saturday night. She suffered severe head injuries... Which leads me to ask: At what age would you let your child drive the family car?

I know it is different on country properties but nine years old is a little young without supervision, as far as what age is right for on property driving I guess depends on the child but I wouldn't let them until legal age myself...that is very sad...

I knew the girl. It didn't happen like that.

The judgement was made by the new "driving the family car" not me. Of course I have nothing but sympathy for her freinds and family.

nine is just plain too young and they should have been with her and not let her behind the wheel at all. Sixteen is a much better age after the youngster has had some driving lessons first.
