remote control phones

I understand there's a system for a satellite TV receiver that'll let you program it to record a Show from a cellphone-I haven't heard of the Car version until you mentioned it,but I'm sure it'd be possible! Would be useful in winter-you could have the car defrosted and ready to roll when you got outside on those frosty and snowy days..

I don't know if it's true, but if it is, then I want one!!!! I think it would be great to be able to control everything with a phone. I want one that has a button on it that will make the ex-wife shut up when she gets in our way!!!

Yes it's true, in both accounts... But only with certain phones... For t.v. remote part, you phone has to have r.f. transiver for that... Not to be confused with wifi but one with infrared... And your phone's operating system has to be compatible with it... Not sure of details but that's what I understand so far... As far as starting your car with it... There's 2 parts to that... You have to install a hardware into your car... It communicates with your cell. phone via wifi & ties into your ignition like any other remote car starters do... I think last time I heard, it has to do with sony errickson phones... Again, not sure of the details but I know they exist...

My PDA Phone acts as a remote controller for many appliances, like television, radio, stereo, etc. But you have to get closer to the item you wish to control, about 2 feet close. As for mobile phones as car controller, i've seen one on television. It was in Japan. A mobile phone was used to control the car. In fact no one was driving the car but it run through the use of mobile phone. Really cool.
