I think parents should let their children skip grades. The child will be held back academically and become bored with school if they are not challenged enough.

I don't think one answer could apply to all children. However in most cases I think it's best to let the child skip a grade, they have every right to learn to their highest potential. After all the highschool stigma of "nerd" quickly fades away when they reach a peer group that can respect them- like the other rocket scientists that they'll be working with!
