Hi naseeha, from the picture attached I could see how fruitful the papaya is. I haven’t seen papaya so rounded before as the papayas growing in my courtyard are usually a bit elongated. My husband loves the ripe papaya very much whereas I prefer to take the crunchy ones as I enjoy chewing them. We like the soup prepared from half-ripe papaya and meat. It is really palatable. We do like to have papaya pickles.

O thats nice to make soup from papayas And papaya pickles. I shall have to try making that. . Yes the papayas have many varieties some are elongated and some are rounded. I feel that the rounded ones taste better. THanks for responding. Happy mylotting.

Since the rounded species taste better I think I would try to get some seeds to cultivate some. I hope I could visit some orchids nearby to look for this type of papaya if there is any. I like papaya as it is not a seasonal fruit and it is quite nutritious as well. You are most welcome and happy posting.

Wow, good for you. I have not seen ripe papayas in months since I arrived in the UK. Sure I love this fruit. I also use the unripe ones to make chicken soup. They actually sell one in the Asian shop. My favorite type of papaya is when it is about to get ripened. I slice it in bite-size and soak it for a few minutes in vinegar with salt, black pepper or chilli. It tastes so good my mouth is watering right now.

You're making me jealous, you know? I really miss tropical fruits as they taste so much richer.

i love mangoes but I hate papayas for some reason. I dislike the flavor and the seeds in them. theyh can be grown here in California but I have not seen any trees. I just could never get used to that odd flavor that they have. I know they are good for us. lol.

Yes i understand that some papayas have a strong smell and an odd flavor. I used to dislike papayas when i was small. But this variety are different. They do not have that strong smell and taste very much like yummy mangoes. When we cut these fruits the inside hollow is not a circle but shaped like a star. It is some good variety of papaya i think. I like only these star shaped papayas . If you get them try eating them once. It will get you hooked.

That is really cool. My sugar gliders love papaya and it's really healthy for them so I buy it whenever I can. It's hard to find good papaya around here, though. Can usually only find nice ones for about two months of the year because I live in the northeast USA and our weather is anything but tropical. During those two months I find real nice stuff from the Caribbean. You are lucky to be able to grow them in yard.

Hi i never knew there could be pets called sugar gliders. I looked them up they seem to be cute. They love papayas? Its sad that you get them only for two months. Here papaya is an all round the year fruit. Yes It is nice to grow your own papayas. Thanks for the reply

Yes, they are very cute and spoiled! When we do get papaya I stock up and cut it and freeze it so they can have it longer. You mentioned unripe papaya? I heard that unripe papaya was not healthy, that it contained latex. Is this true?
