for every occasions we eat in plantain leaves and not only that it is traditional way of serving food, it also gives food the exact taste and has many more advantages. Many people especially south indians still prefer eating in plantain leaves, the real plantain leaf is the best to be used for food, not the one which these days is available in the market.

Thats right. We have a plantain tree in our backyard and we used to get the leaf from it and not from the market. When we serve hot food in the plantain leaf, it releases some good vitamins and minerals i believe which is really good for health. thanks for responding

We have something in common here in the Philippines. We used to eat food here in "Banana Leaf",sounds good when you are in a river or in a beach. This is a traditional way here the so called "Binalot sa Dahon",and we ate the foods by bare hands.
