It doesn't hurt, but I am worried about it, I want to go to the Doctor. I wonder is it a sist, or some sort of growth. It is hard. it is right over my nail on my thumb. Do you know what it can be? I know I should go to the Doctor and I am. I was just wondering has anyone ever had that? Ok, Have a good day!

Basically I don't know what that is. My advice is that anything unusual to our body, we need to see the experts. Our body is very delicate and its really difficult if situations get worst. Its better you have it look over soon than wait till a little later when its worst. I'm not scaring you or anything. It can just be some bacterial growth or some little debris that you didn't notice went in there which needs medical attention. Better be safe than sorry. Take care =)

I am accident prone. When I was in my late twenties, I did the dumbest thing anyone could possibly do-by accident of course. I slammed my own hand in the door of my ex-boyfriend's 1976 Cadillac. You will never be able to imagine how much that hurt. But thank God, I still have that hand and did not even need to go to the emergency room. My pointing finger was split a little near the tip and bruise, aside from the pain. I did not even cry, but I was in pain for a while. Anyway, I was not until years later that I felt a knot at the base of this finger. It does not hurt and I do not remember if it ever did. Once while I was at my doctor's office, I asked him about it. He asked me if I had ever injured myself there. I said yes. He said that more than likely it was just a scar underneath the skin. It is still there, so I guess it is permenant. Yours may be the same thing. Never the less, check it out anyway. I always say, "Better safe, than sorry."

Did you up and have it one day, or did it slowly grow. It could be a cyst, I hope it either goes away and turns out to be nothing. I sometimes will get cyst right at my knuckles, then they go away, no big deal.

That's too bad, thankfully, at least it doesn't hurt! Definitely see a Dr, only he/she can determine exactly what it is and what to do about it (if anything.) It may be a ganglion, a cyst, or even a calcium deposit. My ex hubby had a lot of those and they were ganglions, and the Dr had him do nothing about it. I have sort of the same things on my knuckles, but mine are calcium deposits and from my rheumatoid arthritis. Or it may just be a cyst where something small got in and is aggrevating it and causing it to pus under the skin. When a person gets something like that and it doesn't go away, it should get checked out. When mine started developing it was a symptom of the r.a....not saying that yours is, but it's good to get it checked out anyways so it can get taken care of.

The only thing I have had on my hand was a wart when I was a kid.

If it is on the side where your thumb hits the keyboard, could it then be because of your typing? It might just be a callous blister that has formed over time to prevent damage to your thumb.
