Alright guys, I know that this is going to be pretty painful. But it is for our own good. Here are lists of the twenty saltiest foods in just about every catagory of food. Let me know if you will be changing anything after reading this list. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24313369/

I think I've seen this list before and I don't think I ever eat any of these foods. I used to eat the Chili's Guiltless chicken platter a way long time ago before I had a problem with sodium, but I wouldn't eat it now. I see a lot of people eating food like this and then they wonder why they have high blood pressure or something. I don't know how or way restaurants put so much salt and sodium in their food. Most of these dishes can be made with much less sodium and still taste pretty good.

Resturants do what they do because Americans love salt. If we did not, these places would have to change their menu or they would go out of business.

Wow...I don't really eat a lot of salty foods...i never add salt to anything and tend to stay away from salty stuff. I just don't like it too much I guess? A lot of those restaurants we don't have here or if we do I never eat at so that's a good thing I suppose. It's good to read up on that kind of stuff though so you know what to avoid! It would be nice if restaurants had nutrition labels for every dish, but I think we're awhile aways from that!

I noticed also that I had never heard of many of those resturants. I add as little salt as possible for taste.

I didn't read the whole list, but it looks like it is all restraint dishes that are listed. I really don't eat any of the foods listed and don't go eat out a lot so I avoid all that salt already A lot of prepared foods have a lot of salt in them too.

This is true. It is impossible to avoid all salts. But we have to do the best that we can.

I don't like the taste of salty foods. I rarely ever use salt while cooking because I think the food already taste like salt is added. When I buy groceries I look at the sodium content.

I don't eat out very often, but I do try to watch when I'm cooking at home. It's very mind blowing to read that list. Thanks for the heads-up!

Yes, it is quite shocking to see all that is on the list. Everything in moderation is what they say.
