What is your insight about this?
This is the first activity we did in our Literatire World Masterpieces subject. It's a quote, or rather a haiku from Masahide.
This is not the exact quote given to us by our cute professor [lol] but it's almost the same. I read and reread the phrase to decipher the meaning and then I remember one story about Sherlock Holmes and Dr. watson when they go camping one day. It is something about how different people view life and it's surroundings. The story is only a joke but it's really worth reading.
My insight about the quote is just like the one in the sherlock holmes-watson story. It's about how you perceive life. Our professor's and other classmates explanation about this is that after having a tragedy in Masahide's life, he still see hope, while looking at the moon. Isn't that cute?
:)

I have been through alot of things in my life and I often wandered why I had to deal with alot of those things. I always seem to find some good in everything that I have been through though. I can fenitely relate to losing a barn but being able to see the moon now. There is good things that happen in life even if we have to go through losses to see them. When something bad happens, I always know that something good or better is just around the corner.

kinda. It also speaks of survival and resilience of the human spirit. We know what happiness is because he have been sad. So in your quote, in his darkest hour of despair, he got to appreciate the moon or whatever the moon means to him. To quote Jesus Christ in the Passion of Christ, 'Where is the reward in that?'...where is the reward of light when there is no darkness? Where is the reward of hope when we are not in despair? So deep. Kinda start to jiggle my brains out...so I better stop now or it might blow. LOL!
