How would you deal with your erring child in the presence of his friends?

How would you deal with your child who commit mistakes, when they are in the presence of their friends? Are you going to scold them right away? what are you going to do?

I really do think it depends on the seriousness, if it was just something small then id probably let it go until later but if it was something like back chatting me infront of their friends no they would get told off I think one moment of embarrassment could serve to stop it happening again.
