Wow, I just don't believe it. I was laid in bed last night and had a sudden had suprising realisation that I haven't us my asthma reliever medication for almost THREE WEEKS!!! Where I used to take it at least once or twice per day. What made this difference... Well, I quit smoking 25 days ago. Strangely enough, prior to starting smoking 10 years ago my asthma was just as bad as it was while I was smoking... so it makes me wonder what has happened that all of a sudden I've quit smoking and my asthma has practically disappeared altogether. I used to need my reliever every morning because I woke up with asthma, and occasionally I had to take it during the day also. Now, as I say, I haven't taken it for about three weeks... that is unheard of! Well, whatever the reason, I am just glad it's happened. Has anything like this ever happened to you?

Well, not completely gone july... but very close to it. In 12 weeks since I quit I think I've taken my spray about six times... it's a good feeling.

wow! Great accomplishment jewel, I know it's hard but you made it! Keep it up! I don't smoke but I can relate with my dad, after 30+ years of smoking, he just decided to quit and he made it, not it's been 2 years, he never smoke and great feeling for everyone in the family!

Thank you. It just depends on what causes your asthma as to whether staying calm can help. Some people get asthma from stress and that sometimes happens to me, that's the type of asthma where staying calm helps. But most of mine is caused by allergies and physical excercise... and obviously smoking has effected me also.

I do not have asthma but my husband does. He, too, was a smoker up until about a year ago. And like you, he has not had a bout with asthma since he quit smoking. It has been nice for both of us!

Yes, it most definitely is pleasant to not feel out of breath on a regular basis. I was absolutely stunned when I realised though. As I say, it was unexpected though. I have NEVER known my asthma to be this good in my life. When you consider that I last quit when I was 22 then started again ten years later. You would think that my asthma would have been really good during those ten years... but it wasn't. Anyway, I feel like I've got a new lease on life so it's great.
