 I am curious to the seasoned Mylotters as well as the newbies...do you always mark a BR or do you only do this for the highly important topics?
What is your qualifications for BR? DO you mark them because they fit your point of view or do you honestly mark them becaue they are the BR?

For I decide the BR on the basis of the quality of the response. There are times when I disagree with the viewpoint of a person, but of all the comments that person's reply may be the best so I give the person BR. If there are two responses that are equally good, then I give it to my friend.

When I am looking for different answers, and often take a point from each one in making my final decision it's hard to select only one best response, on the other hand, when I ask people if they like Turkish Delight, and someone POSTS A RECIPE, thre's best response right there. Some responses go above and beyond, and those are the one I mark as a best response.

My qualification for a best response is based on how thorough the response is. It doesn't have to agree with my point of view; I simply choose what I think is the best thought out answer.

So you should wait at least a week or so before you give the best response. Moreover, it is up to you who you decide gets the BR, and if you even want to give BRs, I am sure some users don't.
