My friends tell me you can't go to Vegas without riding down the strip

I just got back from Las Vegas, we went out there as a "day trip" actually just to watch my daughter graduate from High School and receive her diploma. Then we went over to my aunts and I visited with my auntie for hours until he got up and then it was time to come home and get back to working on my final assignment. We barely gambled but we did accomplish what we went there to do. Which was to see stephanie in her cap and gown recieving her diploma. When I got home one of my dearest friends immediately started nit picking about how you can't go to Vegas without riding the strip. I retorted not only did we not ride up and down it, we were never on it at all. Though we did cross it a few times. He tells me "what a waste!" Doesnt he understand how insulting that is? I grew up there I feel absolutely no need to go riding up and down the congested bumper to bumper strip at any time or on any visit. I've seen it already!

Congrats, Proud Mom!
There's nothing like the combo joy & pain of seeing that accomplishment that leads one's child thru the doorway of adulthood. I'm very happy for you both!
...as for your friend, it seems he may be attempting to live vicariously through your trip to Vegas. But, I can sympathize with how you feel. I grew up not far from the home of James Dean and Garfield the Cat. Not a big deal to me. I used to amaze people in FL when I told them I had never set foot in the James Dean Museum ever in my life. Heck, I drove past it every day on my way to everywhere else. No big deal to the natives. Of course, I've been several times since my return to what is now called the Fairmount Museum, mostly to purchase James Dean gifts for my mom who is smitten by Jimmy to this day, lol.
Hopefully your friend will get over being disgruntled very soon.
TC&KIT,
Shannon
