There is a thrift shop in Sanford Florida that I visit often looking for good books and some other stuff like old vases, tables to refinish and such. I found a piece of depression glass that had a price of $2.99 so I purchased it because it was such a pretty pink and the shape was odd. I got on the web and went to searching to see if I could find some more of this pink glass. What I found was surly a good surprise. It is called Princess Pink and is worth $169. Have you ever found something at a thrift store or yard sale that was worth a lot more than you thought possible? Do you even visit thrift stores?

Have heard a lot about that. My wife works in Sanford (Florida) and has heard of such things. Of course we don't live far away! Zelo

It's not an antique or anything, but I bought my present wallet at a thrift store. It was a used merchandise store, a second hand store, whatever you want to call it. Anyway, there in this box of used handbags and wallets, I found a Gitano clutch brand new with the price tag, the name tags, and even the standard sample wallet photos still in it. I paid a dollar for it. It sells for around $30 I think. It's the type that has three folds with a change purse section, a place to keep credit cards and a place for paper money. It has a lot of little compartments and actually holds quite a bit. I like it because it has a long shoulder strap I can put over my head and under my arm. It means I have my hands free because I need one to carry my cane that I walk with and the other free to do other stuff.

We once bought a box of Transformers toys for $3 at a yardsale. My BF sold them on ebay for over $200. I couldn't believe people would pay that much for used plastic toys. Usually, I only buy stuff taht I can use, but I do keep an eye out for designer bags and such to resell.

Thats cool. I found it really cool that you are local. My husband works in Sanford. We live in Deland. I love thrift shops but wouldnt even know where to start to find something like that. I am sure someone had it and didnt have any idea what it was or what it was worth.

That is a really good find. I love thrift stores. I have found so many great things there in the past. I love getting books and have found a lot of clothing and shoes (most with the tags still on them). Our local Goodwill always has different stuff every time I go in there. I love going in there, even if it's just to look.
