I have come across people who spend lot of money for charity purposes. It can either be in cash or in kind. On my part, i used to help poor people on occasions, within my limits. How about you? What is the maximum you can afford towards charity?

I'm having enough trouble with my finances right now, with the U.S. economy being what it is right now. When I get "please give" letters in the mail, I just shred them. When I get phone calls, I just hang up. If they call back, I scream at them to please take the hint, I'm in greater need of my own money than they are, and to please stop calling or I'll report them.
During the Christmas season, I give to several children's charities in my city, as well as to a local food bank. I give money to my kids to donate to the Salvation Army, and I let them pick out a gift for a child in need. Christmastime is the only time I can really afford to do anything like that, so the rest of the year I'm kind of a Scrooge. Oh well. I do what I can, and to hell with the rest, right?

We donate clothing to our local childrens home. We also give canned food to our local ministry food pantry. We try and do our part. Money being tight these days it isn't in the form of cash. But every little bit helps.

I spend money which I can afford for charity. My husband and me are members of an NGO which give paliative care to the cancer patients and rehabilitate their children. We also visit one institution for rehabitation of alshemer's patients and spend time with them. We are doing such small things which may help the needy in our society.

Helping those who are unfortunate is always a good cause for me. When I begin working I used to give to the children on the streets most of my pay. Then working as a Manager I help to send a young man to school. In the christmas period I will sponsor children charities causes. But since losing my work and struggling I have not give much and sometimes it hurt my heart to see there are so many children who need help. I am unable to give at this moment.

Hello! Even i believe in doing charity. Giving someone in need i feel blessed. I would my best possible to help the person in need.
I some what believe, that the blessings of the needy people act on us.
There is a saying or quote in our language by one of our greatest poets : "Whatever you give is for you, and What ever you hoard or preserve is for others."
I believe this quote.
Happy Mylottting!
