hi latriciajones, you cant spoil a baby by picking it up. He has needs, he needs you!. I have five kids. Some I carried around the house all day some i did not have to. They all have different personalities. I still pride myself as being able to do anything with one hand and a baby on my hip. Pick up your little darling and enjoy this time. If you show him you will tend to his need( to be close to you) when he needs you he will learn to trust that you will always be there. He will grow out of this phase. You dont see too many boys being carried around at thier graduation! Take care of yourself too and take breaks from him if you need too but he needs you. Pick him up!

Eventually, you are going to find that each child is different! And this is going to go on their whole life! What works for one child, may not work for the other, they will react differently to discipline, care, and feeding time!
A lot of times you are going to get a child that is real dependent and needs constant attention! Then sometimes you may get a child that literally entertains himself and doesn't crave any attention!
If you are lucky, the "spoiledness" will be outgrown, on mine they all grew out of it!
