 My daughter has a problem with red dye. She basically cannot sit still.

It makes them hyper and bounce off the walls and get a little mean sometimes depending on how much they have had but everywhere you look it has red dye in it or orange which I think also has red dye in it. both of my brothers kids have been diagnosed with ADHD and take medication for it. my little sister doesn't take medication but we try to limit her to only certain things. I guess all we can do is keep them away as much as possible which is hard when they go to school and eat things we can't watch for dyes in.

It would be interesting to see some studies done on food additives to see what type of side effects they cause. I think I have adhd so maybe if I try cutting out foods with red food dye maybe that will help. Since my daughter is allergic to red food dye I know how hard it can be to find food without dyes. I've heard that eating any foods with dyes in them isnt good but that red food dye is the worst!

| mtdewgurl74 (5502) | 4 months ago | It is hard to find things without the red dyes since so many things have it in their products, even the meats we buy at the store has red dyes added to keep their redness since they start turning brown after a few hours of being cut. It is hard to get it without the dye unless you go to a store that does fresh cut like a butcher or a meat market and ask for no dye. | |

| shaggin (464) | 4 months ago | I never realize that ADHD goes along with Tourettes. Is that common or just in a few cases? My daughter is allergic to red dye! When she was little she would just get a rash all over her body from it but now that she is 4 for some reason it now makes her vomit. I agree that they add alot of junk in food that is unnecessary! It might look better to have colorful foods but I think it is harmful for our bodies and should not be added in to the foods we eat! | |

| DonnaLawson (1768) | 4 months ago |  I am not sure if it is common or just in certain cases, but that is what the doctor implied to us on one of the office visits.. My son has outgrown most of the tics but not all of them. He is grown and no longer worries about them or what he eats.. His tics aren't that visibe all of the time, I notice it but most people don't anymore.. I have always heard that red dye is bad for kids..

She has intermittent behavior problems which can be brought on by over-tiredness, over-stimulation, or other such things. My wife believes that Red Dye is the culprit. I'm not convinced. I have, on several occasions, given the child red dye and noticed no problems.

Giving approval to those ingredients
that only resulted to more health problems.
Are they going to kill us slowly?
What I'm trying to say is that people who
run those food companies should test their
food ingredients first before mixing it to foods
they sell to the public. The test is necessary
to determine if the products is beneficial or
harmful to health.
The ironic thing is that we patronize their
products, we give them our hard earned money only
to realized that they are going to poison us slowly.
The sad truth is they just want to profit more. They don't really care about us.
