Port Charles - would you want to live there?

I was bored today and it just occured to me....Port Charles (NY?) is really a very unsafe city to live in!
A dibilitating health/virus crisis every summer, a hideous, destructive weather storm every winter. Although lots of body guards for everyone, still even the children get shot. At least once a year there is a mob war with casualties. You wont' find a happy marriage and children seldom know who their parents really are and many have the same father or mother, but different mother ot father, thanks to divorce. Forgotten or never known of children always arise to the parents that never knew them or even that they existed. On a regular basis, the city gets crippled by being blown up, set on fire or terrorized, even frozen! People never die, but "arise" from the dead, ghosts inhabit the city and no one is happy.
WOuld you want to live there? I sure wouldn't even if there are cute doctors!

The most of Port Charles that I have ever heard of is just from watching General Hospital. That's about it but to say live there I don't think so. Things happen ever where, no city, state, or country is an exception to things not happening where any one may live. You can read the paper and watch the news and see that things are bad everywhere. I would like to know if there is a trouble free city any where in the world. Have a nice one.

As a GH fan of 40 years, I was saying it as a joke!You could probably say that of any daytime soap city -Pine Valley, Denoa City, Llanview, Salem...No one would watch if they were any less. It was just a joke to make a chuckle.

That was a good joke you had me there. I thought you were just speaking on what the city is like. Like I said the most of Port Charles that I have ever know is from General Hospital. I use to watch it all the time but when Luke and Laura left the show I stop watching. Luke is there but it's not the same when the take off the good characters. Have a good one.

It is just a break in my day to not have to think about life as I know it! BTW - they are bringing back Robert Scorpio on the mini series Night Shift starting July 12. It is a 9 week take off on GH - same characters, different storylines.

It doesn't sound good at all, and the worse news is that many more places are turning like that, even ones that were once safe.
Humanity is supposed to evolve, so does our world - but to better, not worse...grrrr

Still, you know what? This one does not sound too far from some places I know. maybe exagerated, yes, but still within the grasp of reality.
Look around... safety in cities even the ones that were thought to be safe, is decreasing.
Children dying often innocent bystanders too close to a gang related quarrel or some stupid greedy for power war.
As for family structure ( let alone happiness ) ... not even a need to comment.
SOme parts of the world already look much like a bad science fiction movie.
OH well, at least it's just a soap opera.... for now :)

I guess i should have mentioned this is a SOAP OPERA city. Soaps are my little escape during the day for 2 hours while I eat or do laundry. In this case, they have to keep things like this going or no one is going to watch the show! I sure wouldn't want to watch a show about my life and what goes on in it! SOrry if I wasn't clear!
