Between the car and the carpet, I have no idea how I survived today...

Today was going pretty good until I went to leave work. I got in the car, turned the key and NOTHING. Well, not really nothing, there was a small little "whomph" noise, then there was nothing. Not even a click, no lights, no nothing. There were other people in the parking lot and after about 20 minutes fooling with the batteries and jumper cables, between the 3 of us, we got the car going. I wanted to stop at the bank, I had to get gas, and I needed to stop by a restaurant about a fundraiser dinner I'm doing. Well, none of that got done on the way home because I knew if I stopped the car it wasn't starting again. When I got home (17 miles, 20 minute drive), I forgot to put my windows up when I turned off the car so I had to jump it again just to put the windows up!
On the way home, I tried to call the dealer where I get it serviced and set an appointment for tomorrow. They never picked up the phone - I called 3 times and left my contact info with the receptionist finally. Then I called Pep Boys to see if they could put in a new battery (I hope it's not the altinator). I got hung up on 3 times before I could even talk to anyone! So, my husband's taking it to work with him in the morning because this guy down the street has worked on our cars before. Of course, we're charging his battery charger thing so he can start the car in the morning. That also means I have to drive my husbands truck into work, and he has to put gas in mine.
So, we're relaxing, watching TV, having a glass of wine (red) and my dog knocks over one of the glasses. And it spills onto our beige carpet. Luckily, I have this great stuff that's worked before so there's no stain. But, while I'm cleaning it up, a client calls and needs help doing something. That took a half hour or so - while I was cleaning up the wine.
We also had to get moving on booking our travel arrangements for August - California/Las Vegas/Salt Lake. After we messed around with the scenarios to see what was going to be the best deals, it took me another 2 hours or so to book it all. 2 one-way flights, 3 day of rental car - seperate days, not all in a row - and 2 nights of hotel in Vegas, twice. Everything had to be booked individually, through 3 different web sites.
Now, I want to go play a bit of pogo.com before I go to bed. I wonder if I'll get anywhere on working on my badge...
Wish me luck!

What a horrible day. I had one like sorta of like that. I went in and complained about that CPR class that I took some time ago. I also went to costco and could not get everything I needed because I forgot my ice chest.
I also went to work for half a day and had some double and blurred vision which is one of the reasons I am disabled.
Good luck and have fun on your trip to CA/Nevada and Salt Lake.
Where are you staying in CA?

Whoa, that's a lot of yuckie stuff for one day also! I hope you're doing better today!
We're staying at my husband's uncles place for a few days, then driving to Vegas on the way to Salt Lake. We have a convention in Salt Lake for a couple days, then it's back to Vegas. I'm really looking forward to it!

Yes, I did make it, just very frazzled! The car ended up being corroded wires so it was easy to fix.

THANKS! I should be in bed though, but after all the "excitement" today I'm not tired yet... And I still have some laundry to do!
