As promised, I have published an essay on Triond, a reflection of the home I grew up in. You can read it here:

Though I moved there when I was 3 years old, it really is the only house I've ever known (except for my adult homes of course). It was traumatic for me at first, then emotional but since we have said good-bye and I see how happy my mother is in her new residence, I have accepted it.
Has anyone else had an experience like this - selling a home that has been in the family for years? How did you feel?

I know the feeling perectly. The problem I had was that I was not ready to move. I was forced to moe into my own place, because Mom and step-dad wanted to sell the house, and I coudln't live out in the middle of nowhere where they were going, because I needed a bus stop.
So to add insult to injury, I was FORCED OUT of the only home I'd ever known.
