A week full of trials

This week has been a roller coaster of feelings for me. Mostly were unexpected. It all started Wednesday of last week when I found my son having a low grade fever. I did not bother as I thought it was just an ordinary fever that usually happens this season. But then came Thursday, he still has some fever and it was getting worse as he is reaching the 39 Celsius. I started to become worried already but still calm during this day. Now came Friday my wife decided to bring him to his doctor and was given a CBC to be sure it was not dengue. So again I was confident it was not. Came Friday afternoon I took a half day from work to assist my son and only did I realized that platelet was normal but WBC was high he was given a prescription of antibiotics. I again kept my calm and told myself it will be okay. But came in Midnight I was awoken to know that he is now in his 40's and that I became worried. Next day Saturday we decided to bring her back to her doctor and her doctor suggested that he be admitted in the hospital as it looks like he is having an infection somewhere. So we had him admitted in the hospital and waited for hours just to get a room. Despite that he still have fevers even though he was given paracetamol and antibiotics. Sunday he still was not doing good and there was a storm brewing around around night power was not doing good as well as my son's temp was also going high and low. Monday, although he did improved a lot, he was not in good shaped still. Although the diagnosis was quite odd. The only findings they had is he has an acute sinusitis. Tuesday he was a lot more better but he still got 38 in the last temp reading. I am aware the he was feeling better than the other days and her doctor gave an order that if he will not have fever for 24 hours he will be discharge from the hospital. I prayed that he would be good and all day he did good and his doc gave a go signal to let us be discharge and now Wednesday was like a miracle already he just sprung like it was before he got sick. I am happy now that he is doing again what he used to be a jolly little kid. Thank God for the blessings.

Yeah that is really true. Parents are truly worried when this crisis comes along the way it is very difficult to make yourself be okay when things like this happens. More so in your case that your a single parent with two kids to attend to.

Yeah I was offline for almost a week now and just starting to get back online. I just hope that everything will be fine. he has returned back from his old self. I missed that for several days but now he is doing good a little bit weak but i can see from his eyes that he feels good and happy with that. Thanks for that nice comment!!! I do hope too that the typhoon did not hit you badly in your place. I heard from the news it was hit hard.

Thanks God your son is okay now. I understand your feeling, when my kids get sick I really wanted them to bring immediately to the doctor, but my wife whos working in a Pharmacy used to give them medicines by herself. She seems to avoid paying the doctor, but I explained it to her, its still better to bring them to a doctor, especially when the fever doesnt subside.

Good thing that you have a wife who is working in a pharmacy. At least you know what medicines to give in these times of crisis. In our case we both work not in medical fields that is why when things like this happens we really are quite ignorant what to give. We just used our instincts and the advice our doctors would give. Thanks for the response.
