What's the best homemade food you've made?

Is there something you've made yourself that you are just so proud you were able to do it? I made some homemade pasta last week, and the other day I attempted homemade ravioli! They came out really well considering it was my first time. When my husband tried them, he gave his approval by saying "You have my permission to make these again". He's so funny!

Wow! That's impressive! I've made chocolate cake and yellow cake from scratch, but that's a bit advanced for me yet. I'm not even sure I'd like red velvet cake. The only kind I've had is from the store, and that's never as good as it looks, but perhaps some day I'll try.

When I was a young teenager, I made homemade bread. I read that recipe for weeks so I would get it right. I wouldn't let even my grandmother help me actually make it. I made little loaves of bread first on a 1/2 recipe. I knew they were a hit when my brother grabbed a loaf of bread, a stick of butter, and sat out on the back porch with it. He broke the bread and butter in half and shoved the butter down the center. It was quiet for a few moments and then he asked me when I was going to make more! I made plenty more after that. DCMerkle

I make a killer homemade bread, Italian soup-Pasta Fagioli, Hot Tamales, Meat Loaf, biscuits and many more recipes which I have cooked over the last 40 years.. Most of my food is the old time home made cooking, but I really never cook that much anymore.. I hope my family likes my cooking, they say they do and there is never that much leftovers, except for the soup and that is because I always make gallons at a time..

If I have the time I like to make fresh pasta also. The best I've done is called Gnocchi it's a potato based fat and short pasta and its good I put them under the broiler after boiling them ,I brush them with olive oil and shake Parmesan cheese over them. Then top them off with pesto sauce, it's one delicious meal with salad and fresh garlic bread. Cook.com search: Gnocchi pasta Pesto sauce Enjoy! tdemex

ueah, I made home made rice cake and banana fretters. here in mour country we usually made food in our home because it's cheaper than buying the ready made one in the store. Besides, I can't buy plenty that would be enough for my kids. But when I just buy the ingredients and made it myself at home, I can have the rest of the family eat as many as they could. No limit but when I buy ready made? Oh!! it would not be enough for all of us. So then, I preferred home made.
