My daughter has a knack for finding stray kittens and bringing the home. It started 3 years ago. She first brought home Andre he was a full grown tom cat. Andre is our outside cat who weighs 18 pounds and we have had him fixed (wouldn't stop sprayng even after the neutering so he is outside). Next it was ghost, an ugly little bugger who is partially deaf and also an outdoor kitty he has outgrown his ugliness (think lyle lovitt as a cat) and is now handsome. Then it was tigerlilly the female from h***. She has found a new home after ripping our little dog and my leg to pieces. Now this morning after being told that a new stray litter had been dumped here again and not to go bringing any home she comes trotting home from walking the Akita with a tiny fluff ball. Don't get me wrong I don't hate cats and kittens are adorable I just don't want one in my house and we have enough animals to feed and care for without another one. We told her to take it back to where she found it....it followed her home again and is crying on the front porch. My daughter is 17 and loves animals which is great but not another one!!!

It sounds like you could end up with alot of cats if you don't make her stop. I hope you find a gentle way to convince her. It is sad that people don't take responsiblity for their animals. I have 3 strays that we feed now.

Sorry to see this is happening to you. My older brother always did this as well. It really made my mom crazy that he would bring home everything. He once went fishing at night and when we woke up the next morning there were fish swimming in our bath tub. My mom was peed off! I remember him crying (at 14) when my mom took him back to the river with these huge fish to return them to the wild. Needless to say he is 37 years old lives at home with my mom again, and after a month of living there my mom now has a dog and a rabbit. I have no idea what makes these animal lovers want to save every animal because I love animals but I do draw the line. We have 2 kittens that a stray had now living with us and they are currently looking for new homes, where do you live?
Just kidding, after they are found a new home we will only have a dog and a rabbit. Maybe you should make your daughter buy the food for them and she will stop bringing them home. Anyway, best of luck!

I try not to get too angry with her cause I was the same way when I was younger....but we lived on a farm and had plenty of room for animals and a barn with mice for the cats. We live in town no mice no barn no room. lol. I mainly brought home puppies and dogs in my younger days. She is a cat whisperer and like the pied piper of hamlin when it comes to attracting kittens and cats.

Your daughter, my sister and my husband are all the same way. Maybe they all need to move into a big house together, and attract cats!!! My husband and I are major cat people, so it's not a problem for us. I know if he had his way, he'd have a house full of cats, jut like my sister has.

I'm sorry, but I think that is hilariously sweet.
I imagine it is frustrating though. Later when your daughter is grown and gone with a family of her own, you'll sit around the table one evening after Christmas dinner and recall these wonderful memories.
Guess your girl needs to find a job in order to help these poor homeless creatures.
lol, if that's the worse thing this sweet daughter of yours ever does, consider yourself blessed.
Sounds like she needs to persue a job in the veterinarian field.

She loves animals very much. And like I have said if we didn't live where we live then I wouldn't have a problem with it but unfortunatly we can't change that. LOL. The problem was that we had noticed someone had dumped a new litter in our subdivision (spotted a new kitten trotting around with a lizard in its mouth)and had told her under no circumstances was she to "find" one and bring it home.....less than 24 hours after the conversation took place I hear "mom guess what I found". In the three years we have been here she has found 4 kittens (well more than that but 4 that she could actually catch). People dump thier kittens here in our subdivision all the time then they breed and pretty soon we are overrun.
