Camera for My Wife

For my ssself I like the Canon line. However in the price range (under $150) This Kodak was the only one that I liked. I could not go on the internet due to time constraints (I had only 2 days - My Grand Daughter who lives out of town was using my Canon A530) In the reviews Kokak is a consistant above average camera. I would agree that it is no Canon and I still think the Canon A500/A600 series is an excelent series and worth the money. My wife wanted a camera that had few choices Auto, Video and simple to operate.

For the most part the Kodak line of Digital cameras is a very good line of cameras for the average to above average photographer. I have read several reviewers who rank Kodak cameras just below Canon and Nikon for similar cameras in the non DSLR cameras.

It seems like a nice little camera for someone who wants to take pictures without worrying about all the settings and things. I like the Kodak Brand for consumer cameras. Kodak is rated above average and a good value in many consumer and photo websites. I was suprised to learn that Kodak was one of the first to get into Digital Cameras but aimed at the very high end and only lately have they put this R&D into the consumer cameras. I will be interested to see what my wife has to say about this camera when she gets back.

There were a couple of important things to me when I purchased this camera. It takes 2 AA batteries, which are common world wide, and it takes an SD card, again almost the industry standard and available world wide.

Another very good camera if you want something with more control would be the Canon Powershot series (A500, A600, and A700). These are cameras that you can grow into but can use right now.
