I had my ears pierced in a traditional way.The needle and ginger was grilled .then,the ginger wiped into the ear and pierced the needle....
the stick of coconut leaves was left on my ears for a week before putting the real earrings.

My first piercing (I now have 13!) was my ear lobes when I was 15 and I got them done with a piercing gun in a jewellers. I got a pair of blue studs with gold rims, very pretty I though at the time!

I had mine pierced at a tattoo shop with a 16 gauge needle.
