I just noticed something. If you are a cook, you can create a new dish on the spot. You are open to change. While if you are a baker, you keep to the recipe. The object to to bake a dish exactly like you did the first time. You may have been creative that first time but you try to duplicate it.I am a baker. I am not a cook.As soon as I set a recipe, I try to do it the same way every time.I am the same way with things in life. Once you tell me the rules, I will follow them to the letter. So are you a baker or cook?

I am not a baker and when I do do a cake or something like that I stick to recipe because I don't know how to do it any other way, I am a cook and I do try different dishes but that was only after many years of cooking meals to feel comfortable enough to do that.

I don't cook.I prefer to bake. It is something I am used to.If I were to try to cook, I would have to follow the recipe to the letter.

I like doing both...I especially like baking when I have my granddaughter over...we make alot of cut out cookies and decorate them. I also love to cook when I have company....but not so much for myself. So I do like doing both.
