How Do you Encourage your Kids?

If your kids has a special gift or has interest in art, music or sports, how would you encourage them? My Eldest son who is now 6 years old loves to draw and paint. I would buy him color pencils, crayons, bond papers, paint brushes and water color so that he continues to be constantly improve. We are even looking for interested and a workshop near our locale so we can enroll him if he like. I have uploaded a painting he made when he was 4.
How about you, how would you encourage your kids on their interests?Just Me,

hi dear .iam yet to have kids. recently married. but there are many friends who have kids, and i have seen them helping their kids. it is like a teacher you have to work. selflessly. be friendly with your child and ignore the parent inside you, talk and share his/ her requirements, encourage her / him to speak up his mind and expose to the best of the opportunities available around. but dont compel for anything whatsoever.

I encouraged my son with hockey, basketball and computers. I used to buy him his hockey gear, he also had computer books etc.
