crazy as it is (with summer only here a few short days) that most of the stores in the mall today are having sales with deep discounts in order to get rid of their summer stuff...(they are seemingly getting ready for fall/back to school already)
so i am posing 2 questions here, when do you think the best times of the year are to shop (my vote is now and right after Christmas)
and also, why do you think the stores rush the seasons so much? (try buying a bathing suit in august???!!)

Im in the united kingdom here and the shops are already going mad trying to sell off their summer stock, everywhere you look there are many discounts, and some of it is at rock bottom price.Im sure if you had a large number of people to buy for at christmas then surely it would pay you to start collecting small gifts now while everything was on sale. The stores have masses of summer stock and im sure that as the weather has beeb a bit unpredictable that people have held back and not bought a lot to wear, well now the stores are left with a large surplus!!I have noticed though that there seems to be a price war going on everywhere here, the large supermarkets are getting highly competitive, and ive also noticed that the electrical firms are also gettin very competitive too, they are selling vacuum cleanes for relatively small amounts at the moment.I know when we went to buy hubby a new rotavator,he wasnt prepared to price haggle, but I was !!and i managed to get a bit knocked off!!if you dont try jyou dont know!!

I have noticed that too...but I like to buy ahead when there are sales. I usually stay about the same size so that's not a problem. Last year I bought all new summer clothes at the end of the season and when summer came I had all kinds of new things to wear. I think you are right....now and after Christmas. That's when I buy alot of Christmas things and really score!

Hello cher913.
I think that the best shopping deals can be had right after Christmas but before February 1st. For that month or so, it seems like the prices plummet.
I do agree that stores seems to push ahead for the upcoming season. I think they're all trying to compete against each other and "win" the battle of showing the latest, greatest, newest things. Because there's that chance that we'll see something new and say, "I have to have that."

I think they're rushing things right now in hopes of everyone spending their stimulus check in their stores.
