Anyone terrified of the dark like me..

hello friend,
Im not scared from dark as i got relieve in the dark.if know abut wht is next in almost dark place, then also having noproblem assuch i think so.im more happy to sit quitely with less light as enjoying candle-light dinner.lol

I personally like the darkness... It sounds weird but I'm no weirdo or anything... I just like the calmness in the dark... Only time I suffered due to darkness was when I went to Sedona, Arizona... My girl friend at the time had an uncle living in Arizona & we went to visit him... We stayed there for a week & her uncle had to go out for the night for work... I went out to the back of the house butt naked in the middle of the night, actually it was 3 in the morning so technically I guess it was a morning, & gotten bitten all over the place by mosquitos... Won't ever do that again...

Even at my age I get scared (62), Reason for that I think is the old Boogey man stories.

Some one will grasp you in the dark or come out of the dark to get you.

I get scared and then say to myself, "your being silly here" What if someone did jump out at you, a good kick in the Jangler's, or open fingers into the neck or a good poke in the eye will give you space.

Still its not Nice I know, and I dont have anymore Ideas to give you rest in this,

I'm afraid of the inside and outside dark. I must always be with someone when it's dark or I'll get scared. It's almost like I'm in a horror movie or something. The only thing I'm missing is the weird music...lol! Everyone thinks this is funny because I'm almost thirty, but hey I act like a kid.

if i am inside and asleep and suddenly wake up, then YES
if i am ouside and i feel something creeping up my leg, then YES

did something happen to you in the dark? doesn't matter whether it was inside or outside.

for me, i would sit with my favorite "safe" friend. i would sit close by and hold their hand. maybe then you would feel safe, and you would "see" nothing happened to you. you may need to do this many, many times.

when you are alone, can you re-create that safe feeling?

you can always flip on a light-switch or flashlight....and see nothing is there.

this is exactly why i can't watch scarey movies! OMG, I would be checking under my bed for weeks if i did.

pixiedustforyou hi I dislike the dark as one can trip or fall and thus I keep a light source close by in case the lights
go out. honey if you are really frightened like that, keep a flashlight handy so you know if you have a power failure or a dark space where there is no light you do have a power source of light so you will not be scared..I would see to it that your frontand back doors have an outside light over them and that you
have a power light in your back yard that you can turn on should you need to go out there at night as you will not be in the dark.
also carry a flashlight if you must go out in the d ark it will give you light and also is a fine weapon in case of an attack.

Im not scared of the dark but I am claustrophobic. Small spaces I dont like at all, but if they are small enclosed and dark, oh my god. I will freak out.

I am also deathly afraid of the dark! I sleep with a night light!

I am not scared of the dark. What I don't like is to lose my vision, because the darkness make us unable to see. Perhaps you have the same problem: you don't like to know that you can't use your vision. However, if you start spending some time in the darkness, you'll just get used to it and feel no fear anymore. It's just a matter of being used to it. The more you stay in the darkness without thinking about your fears, the less you'll be afraid of it.
