What a diet for a cat..!! My cats have eaten cucumber too and at least one of them loved yellow sweet melons. I used to give him frozen peas and corn with sweet pepper and he ate that too when it had melted. I used to cook full grain rice and fish and used that as cat food - my latest cat never ate canned food or dry food. Dried cat food can be dangerous for a male cat. Next time I have a cat, I have to try raw potatoes and the other veggies..

Hi buenavida, yeah, your cat is very similair to my cat in what they eat, but I have one other female just eats her normal tin cat food but loves to get nibbles form my plate, but the male is the one that loves veggies too. He plays hard to get so when I get a chance I just pick him up and give him a big kiss and ticke his belly, lol! thanks for your coments. Tamara

My little cat used to sneak food off our plates if he could - he enjoyed brussels sprouts and cabbage. He also ate raw veg and grass. Apparently, it's cos wild cats eat herbivores - and the first thing they go for is the soft tissues inside. Yuk, I know, but it means they eat the stomach conternts too (double yuk ) so their physiology is geared up to digest vegetables. Ergo dogs - my old lab would eat grass as roughage. I guess that's why cereal diets are included on pet "menus" as well as wet foods. No dogs or cats at present, unfortunately. I do have a rabbit that likes smoked mackerel though. He nicked it off my plate!

littleowl..it's just as well that your dogs DON'T eat tomatoes or grapes...both are toxic to pets... look at the links I give under my response for all the foods one shouldn't give to cats or dogs

Hi Tamara, I have a cat named Thomas as well. He is a mess, loves his tummy rubbed like a dog does and never meets a stranger. He isn't into veges though. I had a cat named Patches that adored black eye peas though. Many years ago, a room mate had a rabbit that loved rootbeer and marshmallows, lol. Hugs

wow. your cat sounds like my coco that will eat anything. funny thing is hes a special cat i'll bet. i must have had a hundred cats back in my day and they were all picky eaters. i only had one that you couldnt seem to fill up and so maybe i should have seen what all he'd eat but never tried anything but cat food on him. my daughter found him stuck in a washer must have been some mean people. he was starved and dirty. she named him Joe (not sure why) but we ended up getting him so fat and the poor thing still ate like he was starved that we ended up calling him Fatty Joe.

Hi bunnybon7, I hate people who are cruel to animals and hope they get their back by someone, I have two cats, they bothe loves us to give some of our food to them when we are eating our meals, Tom loves raw veg but the female cat Baby don't like that, she loves cooked meat but not veg, she is a bit fussy but still loves her food, thanks for your comments.
