Have you guys got your refund yet?
Unfortunately, we are not covered by this program since our bill exceeded to 100 KWH. But our neighbors successfully claim their refund from Land Bank. There is rumors that in July, there were refunds for those greater than 100 KWH usage.

Is that a refund? I thought it was a subsidy from the government and not from meralco..the 500php is given to those poeple to help them pay their electric bill and it is not from meralco's pockets..

then why is it that you cannot claim the 500 php if you have not settled yet your bill? If it is a subsidy, they should give the money even you have not payed your bill since you don't have enough money to pay the bill. The Land Bank, according to many people going there, did not give the 500php if the bill is not yet paid.

Still it is not a refund..i always hear it from the news that it a subsidy given by our government that is why it is claimed at the land bank..if it is a refund from meralco the people will be going to meralco isn't it? Last time when the meralco had refunded some of our payments people went to meralco offices instead and not to a bank..

When my wife inquired at Landbank, she was disappointed to see the long line of the people queering to get their refund. Just to get the refund for the 2 houses we have (separate billing address),she negotiated with her cousin to get the refund in exchange for the half of it. After one day, we finally get our refund. Though we still got one more which the Landbank had rejected because it's less than the required bill of 20 pesos and higher.

Well its the government way of returning the VAT they received form us. I guess they are just doing this to make their image a little bit better after being hampered by so many controversies. Now they are doing their best to cover by focusing their attention to those businesses that are not supportive of them.

Sad to say that the refund is only for those in Manila... and nothing for those residing in the provinces... which is quite sad because a lot of those in the below poverty line reside in the provinces... i don't think they will give a refund to those who consume more than 100 kwh... and i heard that it is only a one time refund... so no more for the month of July...

My neighbors will be getting their refund today. Like you, I am not covered with this, my household consumes 333 kwh. I hope we get refunds too. But to what I have heard here, they will be refunding again on August. Let's just keep our fingers crossed. It's really a good thing that they decided to refund of what they have overcharged us.
