The last few times we've gone to Las Vegas, the taxi line at the airport has just been insane! One night when I got in late to meet my husband (he flew to LV from another location rather than home), I had to stand in the line for about 2 1/2 hours. It was just awful! Any ideas on a more dependable way to travel a short distance from the airport? Let me know how you've handled this problem. Thanks.

Well, we may be tempted to take one of the limos that pull up by the taxi line, even though their charges are outrageous! I can't see my husband standing in line for 2 or 3 hours, but I may be wrong.
We usually stay on the Las Vegas Strip and take cabs or the monorails from casino to casino. They were supposed to get the monorail going to and from the airport by last year. But I think the cab drivers revolted, because it never got accomplished.
Was it difficult driving on the strip? The traffic seems pretty horrendous. Well, take care, jillhill. and, I appreciate your response.

There is not really a good solution, it's just a matter of too many people in too small a space. I was there a couple of year ago for the NBA all star game weekend.
It was 2am, we were tired and didn't want to walk any more, it took us an hour and $30 to go from Harrah's to Wyndam Resort(behind MGM), it's less than a couple of mile and you can see it sitting in the cab for most of the trip, big traffic jam.
Monorail sounds like a perfect solution to me.
