Do you always wear a lifejacket when you are in a boat? |
| |
| Hi There, My girlfriend and I recently had a bit of an argument. She was mad because I was in aboat and was not wearing a lifejacket. I explained to her I am an excellent swimmer. I always put my children in lifejackets. This was not a good enough response for her however and she claims I am risking my life needlessly which would have an effect on her and the kids. What about you? Do you always wear a lifejacket when you are in a boat? cheers, | | | | | |

| | I all honesty, being an excellent swimmer is really irrelivent since even excellent swimmers can have accidents and drown ya know....AND she is considering the possiblities I mean shyt happens right....BUT that being said, as much as I think we should ALL wear life jackets when out in boats, I'm also guilty of NOT wearing one myself....I make my kids wear them and if I were out in a boat WITH THEM I would wear one, but if they arent aroudn I wouldnt...Damn things drive me nuts | | | | | | |

| | You couldn't drag me onto a boat without a life vest. And even though you may be an excellent swimmer things can happen in an instance and your swimming ability may not help you one iota! Just put the vest on, avoid further arguments and quit causing the girl to get worry wrinkles. I am sure she will reward you! | | | | | | |

| | It is a maritime law that every one have to put on a lifejacket once they board a boat. Failing which the license of the boat owner will be canceled. Sometimes even a good swimmer get into trouble at sea. So it is better to play safe. | | | | | | |

| | I haven't been in a boat in ages, but I have always worn a life jacket when I was in one. It's always a good idea to wear a lifejacket. You never know what might happen! Heaven forbid you were ever in a situation where you were rendered incapable of swimming! Or, if you had to save your children, or at least hold on to them if the boat capsized, it would be so much better and safer if you had a life jacket on. I wouldn't get mad at anyone who didn't wear one, but I would definitely be concerned! I think that if I owned a boat and went into very deep water, I would insist that everyone wear one. You just never know. | | | | | | |

| | I would definetely wear one as I am not a good swimmer. Even if I was, you never know the circumstances that would come up, it might just save my life. | | | | | | |
