Summer is a great time for reading. I don't know if you agree or not, but for it's true.
Summer is the time that i read the most.
This summer my plan is like this: "Lord of the Rings"(English Version), "Harry Porter"(english version, from book II to V),Japanese novel "aiizora"
These three books arethe BIG 3 for me this summer and i'll also read the books that i have already read, sometimes go over them again will bring something new.
Besides, i'll also read some Chinese essays and poems.
So how may books and what books do you plan to read this summer?

Hi There,

I too believe that summer is the best time for reading. I always do my bulk of pleasure reading in the summer months. This year I am going for promotion at work so most of my reading will be work related. I really have no choice in this if I am to be successful. I will miss the good fiction like Lord of the Rings (my all time favorite).

cheers,

Hi, golgproo! Thanks for your response.
Well, to me summer is a private time when i can read books for interest only,bu sometimes i am charged by the sudden changes to read work-related books like you.
I hope your boss will make that wise decision to promote you!
Good luck!
Have a nice day:-)
Enjoy reading and enjoy mylotting!

myLot reputation of 93/100. kianli (312)   ranked 1,208 out of 7,293 in reading  3 months ago

Gone with the wind, such a classic
But since i'm a Chinese reading this great novel is a little bit hard for me and so far i have finished 100 pages, with a note book full of words and phrases.
Read all year round is a very good idea, so do you read whenever you have time or something else?
Thank you so much for responding.

It's actually winter here in Australia, but I have a few books waiting to be read. One is the new Tim Winton (Breath), a Joanna Trollope, an American travel book and a book by Elizabeth George called 'Careless in Red'. At the moment I'm reading some Ruth Rendell short stories!

myLot reputation of 93/100. kianli (312)   ranked 1,208 out of 7,293 in reading  3 months ago

Good day mate! I don't if this is the correct or not. Do you greet each other like this?
Short stories are always my favorite, especially ones that give you a sudden end. The end is always surprises to me.
Travel book is also good but i like to read travel books that tell you how to travel on a small budget.
Thanks for responding and have a nice day!

Yep, it's great to say 'g'day mate!' If you enjoy travel books, have you tried anything by Bill Bryson? He's incredibly funny, and has travelled to most places - all over Europe, America, Britain, Australia ... if you can't actually travel, it's great to read about it in his books.

myLot reputation of 93/100. kianli (312)   ranked 1,208 out of 7,293 in reading  3 months ago

So far i haven't read any of his books i'll try to see if i can buy one.
To students, what we have is time and what we are lack of is money, but travel requires both.
Thank you so much for your information.
Have a nice day!

Personally, I never plan to any read a number of books irrespective of the season. When i'm pleased with a book at the bookshop, I simply buy it. It has always been like that for me. Like yourself, I do re-read books again and this includes the Harry Potter series as well. I'm planning to read the whole of the Chronicles of Narnia. The Narnia series is as wonderful as that of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.

myLot reputation of 93/100. kianli (312)   ranked 1,208 out of 7,293 in reading  3 months ago

I do the same thing i'll buy that book if i am pleased with that book.
In my school we have a very big library here which is the place that i often go to not only for study related reading but also to find good books once i found that i'll go to the book stores and see if that book is on sale.
About your favourite the Narnia series, to tell you the truth i haven't read a page simply because i can't find a place to buy this series. Once my mylot earning can cover a series of The Narnia series i'll definitely buy.
Thank you so much for responding.
Have a nice day and enjoy reading!

I have read a couple books so far this summer and I am reading one now that is really good. I don't know how many books I will read though it will just depend on how much I feel like reading.

myLot reputation of 93/100. kianli (312)   ranked 1,208 out of 7,293 in reading  3 months ago

Well actually my summer won't start until July 11th, i still got a 3rd semester here in my university. It's really boring nothing to learn, just sit there for 2 hours a day and chat with each other^
I've been reading Harry Porter series and i finished Book1 yesterday and i am about to began to read Book2.
Thank you so much for responding.
Have a nice day!
Enjoy reading!

For the past year my english teacher has been bombarding me with book after book that i really enjoyed. After the first semester i however found myself with very little time to finish books she recommended. I then however decided that i would move the entire list to the summer since my course load was overwhleming. These books include The origin of Species, Don quixote, great expectations, jane eyre, crime and punishment, and the communist manifesto. I really have my work cut out for me but i really hope that i can finihs before summer ends.

myLot reputation of 93/100. kianli (312)   ranked 1,208 out of 7,293 in reading  3 months ago

I can't agree more. There's always more to read than can ever be read!
I also realize this problem, as you mentioned in your response i try to avoid a reading plan with more than 4 books, so that i can be more flexible when making choices.
Thank you so much for your response and i wish you have a great summer enjoy reading!
Have a nice day!

Ehh, I do not particularly enjoy reading. The only books I will be reading are from my English summer reading list: Wuthering Heights, Hard Times, and Their Eyes Were Watching God (in that order). So far, I'm in the beginning of Wuthering Heights... hahaha

myLot reputation of 93/100. kianli (312)   ranked 1,208 out of 7,293 in reading  3 months ago

And i would like to recommend you starting a reading plan this summer.
Thank you so much for your response!

Summer time is over for us here.. hehe=D ALso i'm not a into books person, so i wun really read.. haha.. INstead, i will do more outdoor activities instead and gain more knowledge about things from elsewhere, except for books.. hehe

myLot reputation of 93/100. kianli (312)   ranked 1,208 out of 7,293 in reading  3 months ago

Here i'm suffering from the high-temperature, and i'm still in school waiting for the very end of the 3rd semester which is extremely boring and time-wasting. I wanna GO HOME!
Well, i think your arrangement for your summer is just so cool, i agree with you on the point that knowledge doesn't simply come from books also from direct experience.
Without experience, there won't be books, books are actually a summary for experience.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful idea with me.
Have a nice day and enjoy mylotting!
